A Japan-based Science Manga Artist and the founder of Science Manga Studio.
With over 35 years of experience, I’m a leading figure in the field of science comic, and hold the registered trademark “Science Manga Artist” in Japan.
I specialize in visual storytelling for academic research, using manga and illustration to bridge researchers and the public by communicating complex scientific studies in an accessible visual form.
After earning a degree in physics, I began my career as a manga artist, illustrating for science magazines, newspapers, and publications in the videogame industry. Later, I pursued graduate research in English education, which led to a deep interest in international science communication. Over time, I established Science Manga Studio, a company dedicated to visual storytelling for academic research and science outreach. We are now based in Miyazaki, a city in southern Japan.
At Science Manga Studio, we collaborate with universities and research institutions both across the country and around the world, creating comics and visual content that highlight scientific work and discoveries.
Many of our projects have been published in multiple languages and are used in international education and science communication.

Comprehensive coverage across all fields. I provide thorough introductions through manga tailored to the target audience. I frequently produce single-panel comics, four-panel comics, single-page illustrations, and booklets ranging from a few pages to 16 pages. I have extensive experience producing multilingual content.
